Celeb-chef Emeril Lagasse was in town last week to shoot an entire episode of his new show dedicated to the St. Pete/Clearwater area food scene. He shared his thoughts about the area with VSPC—and addressed rumors of a future Emeril’s restaurant in our area in this video.
In all, Emeril spent three days in St. Pete/Clearwater highlighting the area’s Gulf-fresh seafood and visiting a handful of restaurants and area attractions, from the Chihuly Collection in downtown St. Pete, to Pass-a-Grille to a visit to Winter at Clearwater Marine Aquarium. It was all for Emeril’s Florida, his new half-hour long cooking and lifestyle show, which premiered this month on the Cooking Channel (Brighthouse Channel 142, Verizon 166). The episode dedicated to the St. Pete/Clearwater area will debut on March 10, with snippets of area coverage appearing in other episodes throughout the season.
One of the many highlights from last week’s press conference at the Sandpearl with the celebrity chef was the question of whether to expect an Emeril’s restaurant in St. Pete/Clearwater anytime soon. Here’s his answer.
Visit St. Pete/Clearwater teamed up with Visit Florida to put St. Pete/Clearwater cuisine on the map with the show. St. Pete/Clearwater is one of six destinations being featured in its own episode during this first season.
